When you arrive at the
meeting point, you will be greeted by your pilot and crew and introduced
to your fellow passengers. At the launch site, your pilot will
explain what to expect during your flight, and how the balloon
is rigged and operated – you
will be invited to help the crew in this process, which will give
you an opportunity to see at first hand how these fantastic machines
work.
Once
in the air, the balloon will fly at heights just above the treetops
or up to 3000ft. As the whole county of Sussex slowly unfolds,
the views stretch far as Eastbourne, Gatwick and the Isle of Wight.
The flight also gives spectacular views of historic landmarks such
as the Balcombe viaduct and Jack and Jill windmills on the South Downs.
After landing, the retrieve team will be there to greet
you with the post-flight champagne celebrations and a certificate
to commemorate your flight.
Mike Bliss flew with us in 2003 and has illustrated his flight on his personal web site, do have a look.
